GSM Based Monitoring

The RT-D2 is a GSM based monitoring system, which has the capability via external sensors to monitor temperature, humidity, flooding, moisture, mains power, UPS, power backup generator, air conditioners and fire detection panels. Anomalies in the monitored environment are converted into alarms and transmitted to three cellular (mobile) phones as 64-character SMS text messages.

The RT-D2 has features that make it unique on the market:

  • Installation and deployment is easy and quick because the RT-D2 does not need existing IT networks, management systems or additional software.
  • The RT-D2 relays alarm in the quickest and most efficient way, directly to the customer.
  • The RT-D2 is designed to be 100% independent of the monitored environment and does not need the monitored network infrastructure to relay its alarms.
  • It is independent of the mains power and power back up due to its internal battery.
  • The independent nature of the RT-D2 allows it to be deployed on any location, provided there is GSM coverage.

The RT-D2 is easy to configure using SMS text commands. These commands can also be used to request input status and configuration information from the unit. All access to the RT-D2 is password secured. Additionally, the alarms can be transmitted to our 24/7 Monitoring Centre, where it will be received, acknowledged and responded to. This guarantees that our customers always receive their alarms. Even after office hours, in the weekend or during the night.

Typical deployments and applications for the RT-D2 are:

  • Monitoring of IT infrastructure such as server and comms rooms.
  • Monitoring of computer cabinets and rack-mount enclosures.
  • Monitoring of UPS, backup batteries, back up generators and air conditioners.
  • Detection of flooding and moisture.
  • Humidity and temperature monitoring of refrigeration rooms and cooling installations.
  • Linking to existing fire detection and security panels.
